RBI announces OMO Sale of Government of India Dated Securities
September, 02nd 2017

Based on the current assessment of prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions, the Reserve Bank has decided to conduct sale of Government securities under Open Market Operations for an aggregate amount of 100 billion on September 14, 2017 (Thursday) through multi-security auction using the multiple price method. The securities offered for sale are as below:

5 8.97% GS 2030 December 05, 2030

There is an overall aggregate ceiling of 100 billion for all the securities in the basket put together. There is no security-wise notified amount.

Reserve Bank reserves the right to:

  • Decide on the quantum of sale of individual securities.

  • Accept bids for less than the aggregate amount of 100 billion.

  • Sell marginally higher than the aggregate amount due to rounding effects.

  • Accept or reject any or all of the bids either wholly or partially without assigning any reason.

The eligible participants should submit their bids in electronic format on the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) system between 10.30 a.m. and 12.00 noon on September 14, 2017 (Thursday). Only in the event of system failure physical bids would be accepted. Such physical bids should be submitted to Financial Markets Operations Department (Please click here to send email; Phone no: 022-22630982) in the prescribed form available on RBI website (https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/BS_ViewForms.aspx) before 12.00 noon.

The result of the auction will be announced on the same day and successful bidders will be required to make payment to Reserve Bank by forenoon on September 15, 2017 (Friday).
