The Committee on Information Technology has been established by the Institute to identify Information Technology
challenges facing the profession and convert them into gainful professional opportunities for members by
conducting Conferences, Seminars, and Practical Workshops, Training programmes, courses apart from Practice
Guides, Training Aids, Softwares and Publications on Information Technology for the benefit of members.

The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, recognizing the need for Forensic Accounting and
Fraud Detection, in the emerging economic scenario, has decided to launch this Certificate Course on Forensic
Accounting and Fraud Detection. Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection specialization is in increasing demand
considering increasing incidents of cyber crimes and frauds detection. It is the practice of utilizing accounting,
auditing, CAATs/ Data Mining Tools, and investigative skills to detect fraud/ mistakes

Prerequisites
All the participants are required to bring in their personal laptop with following specifications:

Windows 7 64 bit preferred or 32 bit

ACL Desktop system requirements
You must ensure that each computer meets all the following requirements before proceeding with the
installation of ACL:

Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)

 Note
ACL 9.2 is a 32-bit application that can run on either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7.
 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (SP1)
Microsoft Windows XP (SP3)
1.8 GHz or higher processor
1 GB of RAM
150 MB of hard disk space for application components
Significant additional disk space (100 GB or more recommended) if a computer will be used to store data
extracts, flat files, and results
TCP/IP connectivity during installation






Software prerequisites
The following software must be installed before installing ACL:
Windows Installer 2.0 or higher
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 ­ SP1 or higher
Microsoft Jet (MSJet) 4.0 ­ SP3 or higher
Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 ­ SP1 or higher
