ICAI, Credai to organize conclave on legal, accounting and taxation aspects of real estate

The Baroda branch of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) along with the Vadodara chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India ( Credai) is organizing a full day program on 'Real estate conclave - legal, accounting and taxation aspects' on Saturday.

The full day program will be addressed by eminent personalities from and outside the chartered accountancy profession.

"Recently, developers, builders including contractors are going through sleepless nights due to various provisions, continuous and frequent amendments in direct and indirect tax laws led that have led to various compliances," CA Ashish Parikh, chairman of the Baroda branch of WIRC of ICAI said on Tuesday.

"Keeping in mind, their problems, we have organized this programme to make them understand rights, duties and accountability under various tax regime under each business model adopted by them. The purpose of this conclave is to get clarity of taxation issues regarding real estate business for growth of the business," he said.

To witness and participate, the Baroda branch has also invited tax authorities including the commissioner of income tax, service tax and G-VAT to not only clarify doubts but to entrust smooth proceedings.

"This seminar is an important opportunity for CAs, CFOs, CEOs, executive and accountants who are at the helm of affairs in the corporate sector," added Parikh.
