Finance Minister P Chidambaram will have a new advisor in place of Parthasarathi Shome, who has resigned from his post.
Yes, Chidambaram said at a press conference in reply to a question whether he would have new advisor in place of Shome.
However, he refused to disclose any names.
Resignation of Shome, who played a vital role in the introduction of Securities Tax Transaction, Fringe Benefit Tax and Banking Cash Transaction Tax, was accepted by the Government in December 2007.
He would relinquish his post on January 11.
Coming ahead of the Budget, Shome's resignation has fueled many speculations in the media.
