With the six-day custody of Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivas Reddy coming to an end, the Central Bureau of Investigation is likely to urge the court for more time to question the duo in the illegal mining case. The CBI is likely to file a custody petition in the court in the next couple of days.Gali Janardhan Reddy and Srinivas Reddy's custody ended on Sunday and they would be remanded to judicial custody on Monday after producing them in the CBI court.
The duo are likely to be produced in the court around 10.30 am on Monday. Srinivas Reddy, who was taken to Bellary to open bank lockers there, was shifted back to the city on Sunday night."The searches in banks is over for now. But more searches will follow,'' a senior official said and added that some witnesses appeared before the CBI but refused to divulge their identities.CBI officials said they wanted to question the arrested duo at least for another one week to get more details of various aspects of the illegal mining case. Earlier when the CBI moved the custody petition, it sought 15day custody of the duo but the court granted them only sixday custody. The counsel for Janardhan Reddy and Srinivas Reddy will move a bail petition on Monday if courts function normally in view of the boycott of courts by Telangana lawyers in support of the Sakala Janula Samme.
