The Indian government expects a marginal improvement in corporate advance tax for the July-September quarter, which stood at 550 billion rupees in the same period a year earlier, a finance ministry official who declined to be named said on Thursday.

India's net direct tax receipts are seen at 1.04 trillion rupees between April 1- September 15 in the 2009/10 fiscal year, the official told Reuters.
