The last date for filing the income tax return in Orissa has been extended by a month due to severe flood situation in the state. So the income tax assesses can file their return till October last.

This decision was taken by the Income tax headquarters in New Delhi following the recommendation of the Bhubaneswar Regional office of the Income Tax (IT) department to extend the last date by a month in view of the unprecedented flood.

Due to the floods, most of the places remained cut off and the people could not file their return.
