August, 20th 2018

As our Members are aware that Kerala is facing its worst flood in 100 years, with 80 dams opened and all rivers in spate. A body blow has been dealt to the scenic state, with its infrastructure, standing crops and tourism facilities severely hit. Apart from damage of physical infrastructure, hundreds of human beings are dead as per various reports. More than 200,000 families have taken refuge in relief camps, according to an official at the Kerala State Disaster Management office.

At this moment, the affected people in Kerala need help to tide over this natural calamity that has fallen upon them, to survive and to rebuild their lives. In this scenario, ICAI has decided to stand with our distressed fellow countrymen, and actively participate in the national effort to support them at this difficult time and has also created ICAI Kerala Flood Relief Fund, the amount of which will be handed over to CHIEF MINISTER’S DISTRESS RELIEF FUND. Members are also requested to generously contribute for the same.

Moreover, the last dates of regulatory compliances with various regulating authorities like CBDT & MCA are also approaching.
