The top brass of the direct and indirect tax departments have fresh faces with new members appointed to the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of senior Indian Revenue Service Officers Sushant Kumar Panda, Ameeta Suri, Pranab Kumar Das and John Joseph as the new Members of CBEC. It has also appointed senior IRS officers Arbind Modi and Bajrang Dass Vishnoi as Members, CBDT.
Both the boards are headed by a Chairman and can have up to six members each.
