Property tax payment deadline extended till July 20
July, 06th 2006

MCD on Wednesday extended the last date for payment of property tax with 10 percent rebate to July 20.

Councillors had been demanding that the deadline for payment of property tax, which expired on June 30, be extended by at least two months.

The decision to extend it till July 20 was taken unanimously at the MCD's Standing Committee meeting.

Standing Committee Chairman Jaikishen Sharma also said centres for collection of property tax would remain open even on Saturdays and Sundays till July 20 for the convenience of taxpayers.

As on June 30, which was the last date of payment of property tax, the MCD had collected Rs 300 crore with 40,000 people paying up on the final day.
