April, 01st 2010

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Doha Chapter, will hold a professional seminar on Corporate Governance, Indian Company Bill and Indian Budget 2010, at 5.00pm tomorrow at the Holiday Villa Hotel.

The seminar will be addressed by high profile speakers such as the Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Corporate Affairs Salman Khurshid, Secretary for Ministry of Corporate Affairs R Bandopadyay, the Ambassador of India to Qatar Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa and CEO of Doha Bank Group R Seetharaman.

During times of continuing financial and economic turbulence in many parts of the world, India and Qatar have managed to buck the trends and show positive growth. But this is also period of caution and corporate governance principles, fiscal and corporate legislation all assume extreme importance to secure the growth story.

It is in this perceptive that a seminar on these important topics is arranged for the benefit of the audit and accounting profession in Qatar.

The presence of such high level delegation goes to reflect the importance of the topic and the key role played by members of ICAI in various Qatari firms and corporate as also the focus India Qatar relations have assumed said ICAI Doha Chapter Chairman CA Kurian Kuriakose.

Doha Bank supports as the main sponsor, SASCO Group as the Co-sponsor and Petrotech as the Support sponsor for this event.

Kuriakose informed that the seminar is open to all members of the Chapter and invited guests.
