Consult local organisations while refixing property tax
April, 07th 2008
All local bodies in the State should have consultations with local Chambers of Commerce and other important public welfare organisations while refixing the property tax pertaining to the respective areas without unduly affecting the general public, Mr S. Rethinavely, President, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has said.

Welcoming the statement by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister that elected local bodies can adopt resolutions on property tax depending upon their requirements and if there was no need they could retain the existing property tax, in the context of the Chamber and others expressing deep concern over the steep revision of property tax, Mr Rethinavelu said in a statement here.
