Rs 9-cr central excise duty evasion case detected

A case of evasion of Rs 9 crore in Central excise duty and misuse of Cenvat credit scheme by Aluminum Extrusion Manufacturers has come to light. Three persons were arrested in connection with the duty evasion and misuse of the credit scheme, the Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence (DGCEI) said in a release here on Wednesday. The case was detected by the city unit of DGCEI.
