Swooping down on dye and chemical manufacturers in Ahmedabad, officials of the Income Tax (I-T) department, on Wednesday, searched and raided the premises of around 40 dye and chemical manufacturers in Ahmedabad. These include two of the leading manufacturers in the state.

Top officials of the I-T Department in Ahmedabad also confirmed raids of around 29 premises of dye and chemical manufacturers in the state capital.

Those who were raided today were mainly dyes and chemical manufacturers, I-T officials said.

Around 100 I-T personnel were involved in the raids, said officials. However, they did not reveal the names and information about the seizure of unaccounted money and documents.
