Tax avoidance treaty with Myanmar |
|
February, 23rd 2007 |
The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave its nod for signing a double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA) with Myanmar. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Priyaranjan Dasmunshi, said this agreement would stimulate the flow of investment, technology and personnel from India to Myanmar and vice-versa. It would provide tax stability and facilitate mutual economic co-operation, he said. The DTAA would be signed on behalf of the two countries after the respective Governments approve it. India has so far signed and notified such DTAAs with 70 other countries.
