Of late, there has been incessant rains and consequent flooding in Chennai and surrounding areas, especially because of yesterday’s very heavy downpour which was unprecedented in the last 100 years and has consequently dislocated normal life and has severely interrupted air, rail and road traffic to and out of Chennai.

Keeping in view the grim situation that has arisen because of this natural calamity which has affected conduction of polling in Chennai, I have decided to postpone polling at Booth Nos.S-022 to S-034 at Chennai which is scheduled to be held on 4th & 5th December, 2015 in view of the compelling reasons as stated above.

The fresh dates of polling at the above booths will be notified separately.

In respect of places falling within Southern Region, where polling is scheduled to take place on 5th December, 2015, situation is being watched closely and appropriate decision will be taken very shortly.
