New website launched by Pranab for disinvestment department
December, 02nd 2010

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday launched the new website of the Department of Disinvestment.

I am happy to launch the disinvestment department website. The new website is user-friendly and makes available information in a more organised and systematic fashion, Mr. Mukherjee said, after inaugurating the new site.

The website would include information on forthcoming, current and post public offers, he said.

Through the initiative, the department, with the help of information technology, would provide information needed by market participants on disinvestment.

Disinvestment Secretary Sumit Bose said the website is based on the feedback received by the department from investors and brokers among others.

He said the website contains details of 49 listed companies, SEBI guidelines and disinvestment policy of the government among others. The listed CPSEs account for nearly 25 per cent of the total market capitalisation of all listed companies on BSE.
