India April-Nov tax receipts up 5.5 per cent: Finmin source

India's direct tax receipts for April-November have grown by 5.5 per cent and stood at Rs 1.87 trillion, compared with about Rs 1.77 trillion in the same period last year, a finance ministry official said.
The figures are provisional. If the present trend continues, the government hopes to meet the budget estimate of Rs 3.7 trillion by March end and the trend was expected to pick up from the third quarter, the official who did not want to be named said.
