Price Waterhouse auditor seeks bail in Satyam case
November, 23rd 2009

Srinivas Talluri, auditor of Price Waterhouse, the audit firm under a cloud in the Satyam fraud case has moved the Supreme Court seeking bail in the matter of allegations that he connived with Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju and others.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court had rejected his bail plea along with that of S Gopalakrishnan, both auditors in the firm, in the Rs7,136 crore accounting scam at Satyam Computer Services Ltd.

Talluri has denied any criminal wrongdoing in his appeal and said that his role was minimal. He has charged the CBI with an unprofessional approach by clubbing all accused.

The two auditors were arrested on 24 January on charges conspiring in the fraud and had been under judicial custody at the Chanchalguda central jail in Andhra Pradesh.

CBI has already filed charges against B Ramalinga Raju, Satyam founder, along with eight others, including the two auditors in the case.
