The ICAI has established the Womens Steering Group (WSG) in recognition of the need to work towards empowerment of its female fraternity and enabling them to contribute to their profession, society and personal lives. WSG is organising a series of conferences across the country to focus on the current status of women CAs and students.

The aim is to position such women CAs and students as competent, capable and collaborative partners in all facets of professional and allied activities.

The third conference titled Women Taking the Lead is to be held on 21 November 2009 at the P. Brahmayya Memorial Hall, ICAI Bhawan, Chennai

This conference will include:

Eminent persons who will speak on some of the latest topics like IFRS and direct tax code towards disseminating up-to-date knowledge among the participants.

Panel discussions and interactive workshops on topics relevant to women practitioners like networking, practice management, use of technology at work and so on.
