The institute of cost accountants of India organized a conclave on 'GST-ease of doing business' on Sunday to enhance professional knowledge and understanding on goods service tax.

Chhattisgarh vidhan sabha speaker Gauri Shankar Agrawal was chief guest while state industries corporation chairman Chaganlal Mundra was the special guest at the conclave. Central excise and customs, service tax additional commissioner Harbir, additional commissioner commercial tax RK Trivedi, deputy director central excise and customs Ratan Khatwani and ICAI office bearers Manas Thakur, Ashok Kanwal, BM Sharma and Arindam Goswami were among those who attended.

Speaking on the occasion, Harbir explained the technical side of GST regime and how these tax reforms could bring ease to business. Commercial tax additional commissioner RK Trivedi threw light on the steps taken by state government for GST regime. During the technical session, the proposed GST module was explained in detail.
