The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Nagpur Branch recently celebrated its Branch foundation day by organising Bhajan Sandhya & felicitating all former committee members of Nagpur Branch.

Chairman of the Branch CA. Kirti Agrawal in her welcome & introductory remarks said that it is a matter of great pride & prestige that Nagpur Branch which was started in the year 1978-79 with only about 100 members under the Chairmanship of CA. D.J. Deshpande has now taken a shape of enormously huge tree with membership strength of over 2000 members. She further said that Branch foundation day was the most appropriate day to recognize the yeoman services rendered by all the Past Chairmen, Past National Presidents CA. Ashok Chandak and CA. Jaydeep Shah & founder Committee members for the cause of the profession in general & Nagpur Branch is particular & hence making Nagpur Branch of ICAI one of the most vibrant branch of the country amongst 150 branches. She said that on behalf of all the members of Nagpur Branch she offers the salutations to the illustrious leaders of the profession who are in fact the pillars of the Nagpur Branch.

Nagpur Branch has witnessed one of its members CA. Ashok Chandak and CA. Jaydeep Shah being elected to highest post of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI) i.e. President, ICAI New Delhi. Shri N.K.P. Salve is the first member of the branch to become Union Minster and Chairman, Finance Commission.

The felicitation programme was followed by bhajan sandhya presented by Art of living group along with the dinner. Large number of members enjoyed the evening alongwith their families. CA. Kirit Kalyani, CA. Suren Duragkar and CA. Umang Agrawal conducted the proceedings while Secretary of the Branch CA. Sandeep Jotwani proposed a vote of thanks.
