Income tax refund not credited yet? You might have made this mistake
September, 26th 2019

The income tax department has changed income tax refund rules from March this year. Taxpayers who have filed their ITR for FY18 are required to be compliant to new rules in order to get a timely refund.

Taxpayers who have filed their income tax return for the financial year 2018-19 are waiting for their income tax refund. Generally, tax returns are processed within 4-6 weeks and people receive their refunds shortly after. However, several taxpayers are complaining to the Income Tax department on Twitter about not receiving their tax refund still.

Many assessees have tweeted to the tax department saying that they are yet to receive income tax refund despite having filed their ITRs one or two months ago. It may be noted that usually, a delay in ITR processing automatically results in delay in crediting of your tax refund. But, several taxpayers have complained that while their ITRs have been processed, refunds are yet to get transferred to their bank accounts.
