ICAI plans awareness programmes
September, 19th 2015

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has offered to collaborate with Alagappa University to organise education awareness programmes for students of the affiliated colleges of the university every year. “The ICAI provides refresher courses to university and college teachers in promoting Commerce and Accountancy education,” V. Murali, Chairman, Board of Studies, ICAI, said.

He was addressing a two-day seminar on ‘Contemporary accounting and auditing synergy,’ organised by the Board of Studies of the ICAI and Faculty of Management of Alagappa University here on Friday. He said that students could attain their goals easily, provided they planned systematically.

They must develop noble thoughts to achieve their goals. Students must strive to earn a good sum and spend the hard-earned money for a noble cause, as in the case of Alagappa Chettiar who had the vision to develop Karaikudi as an educational hub, he said.

As suggested by former President APJ Abdul Kalam, the ICAI had taken up many social responsibility activities. It had established endowments in various universities and institutes to give gold medal to students who secured first rank in their examinations, he added.
