ICAI seminar on financial reporting

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Doha Chapter will conduct a day-long continuous professional education event tomorrow (Sep 21) at Diplomatic Club.

The topic is International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) and Information Risk Management (IRM).

The event sponsored by Deloitte Qatar, Sasco Group, Qatar Insurance Company and Galfar Al Misnad, will be inaugurated by Shashank Srivastava, CEO and board member, Qatar Financial Centre Authority.

Midhat Salha, partnerDeloitte Qatar will speak on 2012 IFRS updates. Rammohan Bhave, managing director, ConsultIFRS Strategies will talk on First Time Adoption of IFRS and basics of XBRL. R Vittal Raj, director, Pristine Consulting (India) will provide insights into and challenges in Managing & Auditing Information Risks in Financial Reporting.

ICAI Doha Chapter chairman Venkat Ramamurthy said the profile of the speakers and the relevance of the topics ensure immense value to the participants.
