What is the big idea behind CAIst?

CA1st is a forum of like minded CAs and an arm of Chartered Accountants Welfare Society launched with the basic objective of raising issues concerning CA professional at large to our core body ICAI besides suggesting measures to resolve issues and convert challenges of today's date into opportunities.

What was the need/logic of starting such a platform in the city?

Gurgaon is one of the biggest hubs for CAs with around 3,000 CAs working besides around 5,000 CA students, therefore the key management of CA1st planned to launch CA1st in Gurgaon. We plan to organise career counseling for CAs in the city which holds ample placement opportunities for the profession. Therefore, Gurgaon is the fittest place to launch CA1st. In due course, the platform will work for the whole CA fraternity of the country. Besides creating ample job opportunities for aspiring CAs, CA1st wants to give CA fraternity an atmosphere of brotherhood and sense of belongingness to CA professional at large in this cut throat competition and stressed working hours. Initiatives like Blood Donors Bank is a move in this direction. Same way, nowadays young professional are facing the problems of stress, CA1st will be organising motivational programs for them in the city.

How do you intend to connect the aspiring CAs to job opportunities in the city?

The rapidly growing city of Gurgaon is witnessing a large number of students aspiring for this profession, hence, CA1st will be act as a bridge between the newly qualified chartered accountants and opportunities. After Mumbai, Gurgaon is becoming the hub for all large corporate specially info companies, PSU's like Rites, Power Grid, Banks Like Oriental Bank of Commerce and companies like Airtel and consulting firms like PwC among others. Many SMEs are also setting up their corporate offices in Gurgaon. We have plans to, so, arrange sessions with all HR consultants and HR in-charge of these companies and give suggestions to ICAI to conduct exclusive campus for Gurgaon. This way the aspiring CA's will be benefitted.
How good is Gurgaon as a market for CAs?

Hundreds of Chartered Accountants are working in companies here and good remunerations are being paid to them. The need of hour is how the skills of a CA are presented to the corporate world. The training mechanism of CA Curriculum is so good that the CA profession outclasses other parallel courses like MBA-Finance, Cost Accountant, BBA etc. CA 1st will give suggestive measure to ICAI on how the Institute should highlight the strength of CA profession, so that more and more CAs can be placed.
