The income tax department has extended the last date of filing of returns for the assessment year 2010-11 in Jammu & Kashmir to November 30 due to law and order problem in the state.
"The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date of filing of returns of income for the Assessment Year 2010-11 for all categories of cases in the State of Jammu & Kashmir to November 30, 2010," an official release said today.
It further said that the decision was taken considering the reports of disturbance of general life, caused due to the law and order problem in the state.
Earlier, the Income Tax Department had extended the last date of filing income tax returns in the entire country to August 4 from July 31 due to inclement weather and some technical snags.
