Sub: Invitation to Send Quotes for Printing Work of CA Students' Journal,
The Chartered Accountant Student
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has been bringing out a monthly
publication- The Chartered Accountant Students' Journal since January 2010.
The Journal is of 36 pages. With ever-widening reach and readership base, the
total circulation of the journal stands at nearly 3, 50000 today.
The ICAI is initiating the process of engaging a printer of high repute, long
experience and excellent record of accomplishment for this journal from
publication of October 2013 issue. The posting dates for the Journal are 26th to
30th of advance month. The matter for printing would be delivered to the
printer/bidder between 10th to 17th of the advance month in a phased manner.
The printer should ensure that the posting should be within the time frame.
Broad details are as follows:
1. The finished size of Students' Journal will be 195 mm x 273 mm.
2. There are 4 cover pages that are printed on art card of 170 GSM.
3. There will be 32 inner pages that are to be printed on:
(a) 70 GSM Map litho or
(b) 64/65 GSM Map litho or
(c) 60 GSM LWC Gloss/Matt or
(d) 64/65 GSM LWC Gloss/Matt
(Printer should submit sample dummies of paper (Mentioning exact name
and mill of the paper) with stamp of the printer and technical specification
sheet from the mill. Suitable penalty will be imposed in case of sub
standard paper usage, pre press, printing or binding mistake, usage of low
quality of raw material such as ink etc., poor performance, attitude towards
ICAI jobs etc.)
4. The Students' Journal will be completely in four colour.
5. The total print quantity varies from month to month.
6. The printing press will be responsible for all pre-press work including
page-setting, inserting graphics, setting tables, equations, showing a
number of proofs, making corrections, etc. The press should have their
own infrastructure for the same. They should also preferably possess an
image setter and other related infrastructure.
In case editorial support can also be provided by the press, please
provide details of experience and capabilities. Also, mention the costs
involved separately.
7. ICAI may ask printer to provide DTP operator for finalisation of matter at
ICAI premises for which no extra payment will be made to the printer.
8. The printing press should have sufficient infrastructure to print the Journal
on timely basis. (Provide the details of the infrastructure available.)
9. The responsibility of printing individual addresses on the Students' Journal
will also rest with the printer. The work can be outsourced by the printer to
a reputed mailing agency, if the requisite infrastructure is not available
with them.
10. The printer will also process the mailing data provided by the Institute. The
work will involve merging different files and sorting them pin-code wise.
Bundles of Students' Journal shall be made according to different pin-
codes. Cases where pin-codes are missing, sorting shall be done city-
wise and different bundles are made.
11. The printer will send the bundles of Students' Journal, on the scheduled
mailing dates, in bags to the 'bulk' mailing department of the post office for
distribution throughout the India. In addition specified number of copies
will also be sent to the office in Noida or any other place as desired by
ICAI.
12. The printer must have relevant experience of printing periodicals. It should
be presently printing at least two periodicals in the form of magazine,
newspaper, newsletter or journal. Such a publication must be registered
with the Registrar of Newspapers of India (RNI) and is dispatched through
a Post Office.
13. No advance shall be paid. The payment shall be made by cheque one
month after the receipt of the bills. The press will also be required to
deposit earnest money / provide Bank Guarantee as per the rules of the
Institute.
14. The rates quoted should be inclusive of all taxes and any other charges,
which should be final to be paid.
15.There will be an agreement for Three years and the rates shall not be
changed during the period.
You are requested to send the quotes and technical evaluation data for the job
on the basis of the enclosed `Mandatory Prequalification Criteria' (Annexure I)
and `Basic Job Specifications & Scope of Work' (Annexure II). You are requested
to provide the quotes and technical evaluation data in the Annexures III and IV
respectively in hard copy duly signed as well as compulsorily in soft copy (CD).
The quotes must be sent latest by August 23, 2013 with the latest updated
profile of the company for the following two case scenarios separately:
(1) Printing as well as other tasks mentioned in Annexure II when
paper will be sourced by printer.
(a) 70 GSM Map litho or
(b) 64/65 GSM Map litho or
( c) 60 GSM LWC Gloss/Matt or
(d) 64/65 GSM LWC Gloss/Matt
(2) Printing as well as other tasks mentioned in Annexure II in any
other paper suggested and procured by you.
The specification of the paper such as Substance, Brightness, Whiteness,
Opacity, Gloss Smoothness etc. will be made clear at the time of formal
agreement.
We would welcome any other information/innovation, which you might like to give
to strengthen your case.
Sealed Quotations complete in all respect duly super scribing in the envelop,
" Quotations For Printing of ICAI Students'Journal"should be sent by
