PricewaterhouseCoopers announced that Vivek Mishra, former leader of the indirect tax practice of E&Y, has joined PricewaterhouseCoopers. Vivek will join as executive director in the indirect tax practice, with effect from 2 August 2010, and will play an integral role in developing and expanding the market for indirect tax services of the firm. He will be based in Delhi.
PwCs tax practice is the leading tax business in India. It is the winner of the International Tax Review India Tax Firm of the Year award for 2009.

He has led several assignments covering complete outsourcing of service tax and sales tax compliance for companies operating in the technology and telecom industry.
Vivek is a frequent speaker at various fora. He has made presentations on indirect tax matters and, in particular, on the complexities of the service tax regime in India, as also on the GST. He has been on many indirect tax committees in the apex Chambers of Commerce.
