Weakness in Asian markets have dragged the Sensex this morning. The index, however, has recovered from the day's low and is now at 14,909 - down 103 points.
The Nifty is at 4,433 - down 21 points.
HDFC Bank has shed 2.2% to Rs 1,447. Sun Pharma and ITC have slipped 2% each to Rs 1,165 and Rs 221, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Communications, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, SBI and Hindustan Unilever has dropped over 1% each.
Among the Nifty stocks, Cipla and Ranbaxy have dropped 2% each to Rs 253 and Rs 298, respectively. Ambuja Cements, Reliance Capital, Power Grid Corporation and Cairn India have also declined marginally.
However, auto stocks have gained. Hero Honda has added 2% to Rs 1,442. Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra are up around 1% each at Rs 1,388 and Rs 780, respectively.
In Nifty, HCL Technologies has surged 3.5% to Rs 264. Gail India and ABB have added 2.5% each to Rs 331 and Rs 706, respectively.
The market breadth is positive. Out of 2,156 stocks traded, 1,186 have advanced while 881 have declined.
