The Sensex continues to languish in red. The index dipped to a low of 15,815 - down 187 points from the day's high of 16,002. The index is now 81 points at 15,843.

The Nifty is down 18 points at 4,693.

The Sensex opened at 15,940, up 16 points this morning. However, within seconds the index slipped to a low of 15,832 and is now down 92 points at 15,832.

The Nifty touched a low of 4,677 and is now down 30 points at 4,682.

ITC and Tata Power have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 242 and Rs 1,325, respectively. Bharti Airtel and Infosys have slipped 1.5% each.

HDFC, ONGC and Wipro are down around 1% each at Rs 2,497, Rs 1,164 and Rs 487, respectively.

On the other hand, Hindalco has gained 2.5% at Rs 111. Sterlite and Tata Motors are up 1.5% each to Rs 682 and Rs 438, respectively.
