The Ludhiana branch of Northern India Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India celebrated the diamond jubilee year by organising programme on Merger, Demerger and Networking of CA Firms and Code of ethics of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Accounting and Taxation of Educational Institution, Trust, Societies etc at Hotel Le Baron today. The progamme commenced with a welcome address by chairman of Ludhiana branch of ICAI, Vishal Garg.
After that, Amarjit Chopra, Central Council member from New Delhi, gave a talk on the Merger, demerger and networking of CA firms and code of ethics of ICAI. He explained how in the changing environment, it had become increasingly important for CA firms to consolidate and form bigger firms so that they could meet the challenges of globalisation and perform better by offering more quality services to the clients.
He stressed on the need of networking among the CA firms. He also deliberated upon the code of conduct of ICAI for its members.
In the second half, Sukhen Pal Babuta, Secretary, NIRC, Chandigdarh, deliberated upon the topic of accounting and taxation of educational institutes, trusts and societies and explained various new amendments in the taxation laws and compliance issues relating to the topics.
The programme was attended by about 300 chartered accountants, which included ICAI, Ludhiana branch vice-chairman Sanjeev Gupta, secretary Harinder Singh, treasurer Yashoo Bansal, Arun Gupta, Ashok Bhatia, Jasminder Singh and Hukminder Lal Sahi etc.
