Amendments in VAT act to be reconsidered
June, 16th 2010

Delhi Finance Minister A K Walia said the government will reconsider the amendments in Delhi Value Added Tax Act which were creating obstacles in its proper enforcement.

In a statement issued, the Minister said, We would like to reconsider those particular amendments which are posing difficulties to the traders in filing returns accurately.

Dr Walia further stated that his government had taken cognizance of the requests received from various trade associations for reconsideration of amendments made in the Act.

He made it clear that the government was aware of the problems being faced by the traders as they had no immediate infrastructure to upgrade their set up with Computerisation and Management Information System (MIS).
