Engineering aspirants from the state have secured top slots in All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) declared last evening.
Standing tall with 97 per cent in ISC, Indrasen Bhattacharya of Loyola School, Jamshedpur, was declared the city topper in the science stream. Today he has once again proved his mettle with an all India 18th rank in the AIEEE.
It feels great. I am happy but I have always dreamt of IIT and my dream would be realised as I have all India rank of 82, said an exuberant Indrasen.
Now I am waiting for my counselling and I hope to get the college of my choice. I will go for electrical engineering if I get through to IIT, Bombay, and if I get through IIT, Kanpur, I will opt for computer science, said Indrasen.
The state topper in ISC Mrinal Kumar has ranked 29 in the examination all over India. Ankit Kumar who bagged 38th position in IIT entrance has got the third position in the state.
Mrinal, who wants to become an aeronautical engineer, secured 152nd rank in IIT said: I owe my success to my parents and to my coaching institute.
His success mantra: Time management and planned study matters a lot in preparing oneself.
Students taking tuition for these examinations have benefited largely from the coaching institutes in the state. The performance of the state at AIEEE has been commendable with 80 per cent of the students clearing the entrance test from various coaching institutes in Jamshedpur.
