Doha seminar to discuss impact of weaker dollar on global economy |

THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Doha Chapter, is organising a seminar on the impact of the weaker US dollar on the world economy and the basics of fraud, on Sunday, at Ramada Plaza.
The seminar will cover a number of topics by Grant Jackson, head of treasury and investment, at Ahlibank. They include the impact of a weaker USD on the world economy, price of commodities, free-spending consumers, and how the same consumers caused the current credit crunch.
It will also cover the asymmetry of capital flows (from floating to fixed rate regimes), and why governments are currently unable to effectively deal with the problems.
The Fraud Basics topic will be covered by Mustafa Zacour, group head of audit & compliance of Alfardan Group Holding. It will include the work environments that have the highest risk levels for fraud; and prevention of fraud and basics of fraud investigation (including interviewing).
