June, 05th 2008
THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Doha Chapter, is organising a seminar on the impact of the weaker US dollar on the world economy and the basics of fraud, on Sunday, at Ramada Plaza.

The seminar will cover a number of topics by Grant Jackson, head of treasury and investment, at Ahlibank. They include the impact of a weaker USD on the world economy, price of commodities, free-spending consumers, and how the same consumers caused the current credit crunch.

The Fraud Basics topic will be covered by Mustafa Zacour, group head of audit & compliance of Alfardan Group Holding. It will include the work environments that have the highest risk levels for fraud; and prevention of fraud and basics of fraud investigation (including interviewing).

The seminar is open to ICAI Doha Chapter members and guests. Members may contact Sanjay Jain (5845359), Amit Desai (5856485), Javed Siddiqui (5845002) or Srikaran (5843853) to reserve seats.
