VAT dealers and sales-tax practitioners heaved a sigh of relief as the Excise Department extended the last date for VAT e-filing till May 9. 

 The last date for filing of return for the fourth and the last quarter of 2015-2016 was to conclude on May 6. 

 It was for the second time that the last date was postponed as earlier it was to be filed on April 30. However, it was later extended to May 6.  Traders have been seeking more time as server was down.
