The Services and Infrastructure sector plays a pivotal role in the economic development. Considering the increasing importance of this sector, the Reserve Bank of India had initiated pilot survey to assess the business sentiments in Services and Infrastructure Sector. The Reserve Bank of India has now launched the 9th pilot round of the Services and Infrastructure Outlook Survey which seeks assessment of the business situation for the current quarter (April-June 2016, i.e. Q1:2016-17) from the services and infrastructure companies in India, and their perceptions for the ensuing quarter (July-September 2016, i.e. Q2:2016-17). The survey schedule is very short and simple containing qualitative questions covering a set of seven business indicators namely, overall business situation, turnover, part-time employees, cost of finance, availability of finance, cost of inputs and profit margin.
Companies in Services and Infrastructure Sector are encouraged to participate in the survey by downloading the survey schedule from the Reserve Bank’s website www.rbi.org.in. The duly authenticated filled-in survey schedule may be e-mailed or faxed as per contact details given in the survey schedule. The responses of the individual companies will be kept strictly confidential.
