E-Mail broadcast to all Users
This is to bring to your kind notice that this E-mail System of
Income Tax Department, http://mail.incometaxindia.gov.in will be
available with a new look and feel from 4th June 2012. All the
reasonable caution and care is taken to move your old e-mails to
the new system. There will not be any change in your user
credentials; the URL, e-mail ID and password will remain same for
logging into the new system. The new e-mail system will have the
following new features apart from the regular e-mail features like
signature, folder creation, auto responder etc.
Advanced and new user interface with personalised
Increased storage on the webmail of 200MB to each user
Integrated calendar, contact, notes and tasks functions with
the mail interface
Global address book of all the users
SPAM free mail boxes with advanced SPAM protection at

In this regard you are requested to kindly go through the attached
getting started guide and FAQs for understanding the new e-mail
i) The last working day for the old system will be 1st June,
ii) From 2nd June, 2012, our technical team will take over
the old system for necessary migration activities to the
new system. A downtime of 2nd June, 2012 and 3rd
June, 2012, is expected while moving to the new system.
During this period the e-mail system will not be available
to the users.
iii) The new Official Email System will go-live from 4th June,
2012 and will be available to the users.
A detailed searchable help will also be available on the new system
after logging in. In case of any difficulty in accessing the new e-mail
