Regarding seizure of cannabis weighing 3429.30 Kgs. of value Rs. 1.03 crores by Berhampore DRI Officers of Kolkata Zonal Unit.

SEIZURE OF 3429.30 KGS.OF CANNABIS VALUED AT RS. 1.03 CRORES

Acting on specific intelligence, Berhampore DRI Officers of Kolkata Zonal Unit have effected a seizure of 180 packets of Cannabis weighing 3429.30 kgs. from a truck on 09.05.2010 having total value at Rs. 1.03 crores. The packets of Cannabis were coming from Nagaland by concealing the same under coal/coal dust. The seizure was effected at Khagra Railway level crossing on NH-34 in Murshidabad District, W.B. Three persons including the driver and owner of the truck were arrested and presently under Judicial Custody.
