ICAI - High Court stay on disclosure of answer sheets of Chartered Accountants examination
May, 30th 2009
While considering an appeal filed by a student of the Chartered Accountants Examination under the Right to Information Act, 2005, the Central Information Commission recently ordered for supply of certified copies of the answer sheets of a student concerned which was also later confirmed by the Learned Single Judge of Honble Delhi High Court in respect of a Petition filed by the Institute. Consequently, queries are being received by the Institute about the supply of answer sheets.

In this connection, it may be mentioned that subsequently, an appeal against the above Order of the Learned Single Judge was preferred by the Institute before the Division Bench of the Honble Delhi High Court and the Honble Bench has been pleased, among others, to stay the said order of the Learned Single Judge. As such, the matter is before the Honble Division Bench of the Delhi High Court.

This is for general information of all concerned.
