There is good news for those on the bench of Satyam Computer Services and Tech Mahindra.
As it initiates the process to assimilate Satyam Computer Services after winning the mandate for acquiring majority stake in it, Tech Mahindra has begun tapping into the resource pool of the Hyderabad-based company.
Before tapping the talent pool outside, they have decided to first utilise the internal resources. About 150 such associates have already been picked, a Satyam executive told Business Line.
Information sharing
The resource management teams from both the companies, who see to it that all the staff are engaged in projects, have begun talking to each other, sharing information on the specific needs of one another.
Recognising possible openings, those on the Satyam bench are volunteering to work on projects. It is like moving from a feeling of insecurity to security, the official explained.
Win-win situation
Initially, it is estimated that Tech Mahindra needs 1,200 people with a variety of skill sets for different projects. We have sent them profiles of about five hundred associates, mostly from the bench, the official said.
It is a win-win situation for both. The competency leaders are talking to business leaders to seek information on the kind of resources they are looking for, he said.
This, the duo realise, is not an easy process. The resource managers have factored in several issues that might crop up in the minds of Satyam associates. We have a prepared a set of FAQs (frequently asked questions) to clear the doubts, if any, of associates, the official said.
Synergies are happening at different levels. Teams from either side are undertaking training sessions in specific verticals in other companies.
For one, Satyam leaders are offering training in business intelligence, while Tech Mahindra executives providing insights in the telecom vertical, the official said.
