ICAI won the All India Diamond Jubilee T-20 Cricket Match held between Team ICAI V/s Team IRS(Income Tax)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) as a part of its Diamond Jubilee Year Celebrations organized a cricket match between the Chartered Accountants and the members from IRS (Income Tax) selected from all over the country.
 
The match was inaugurated by Shri S.S.N.Moorthy, Chairman, CBDT in the presence of CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, President, ICAI, CA. Anuj Goyal, Chief Coordinator and Central Council Member, ICAI. Shri Moorthy remarked he is happy at the fact of ICAI playing cricket as a part of its Diamond Jubilee year celebrations. He further added that this match will be a huge success and wished both the teams best of luck.
 
CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, President, ICAI said that I am thankful to Shri Moorthy for taking out time from his busy schedule to be present at the inaugural. I am sure that this match will be a grand success and it will help the officials of both the organizations to display their talent.
 
CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal further added that such events will be more frequent so as to give a message of peace and harmony among people in general and Govt. & other organizations in particular.
 
CA. Anuj Goyal, Chief Coordinator & Central Council Member, ICAI welcomed all the guests on this historical moment. He stated that this event would be replicated as a brand building exercise at constant intervals.
 
The pre match publicity done by the Institute amongst the members and students of the Institute generated excitement all over the 1, 50,000 members and 4, 50,000 students of the Institute. The match marked a large gathering of the viewers all across the country. In a friendly gesture, T-10 match was played between the Team President 11 ICAI and Team Chairman 11 CBDT. Team President 11 ICAI made 57 runs . Chairman 11 CBDT won the match in 8 overs at the loss of 6 wickets. CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, President, ICAI also participated in this match.
 
The match between team ICAI and IRS (Income Tax) started around 5.00 p.m. in the evening. In a keenly contested match, ICAI beat IRS by 42 runs in the match played on the Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium here today.
 
Batting first, the ICAI made 144 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. The main contributors were Nitin Chaudhry and Abhay Bagmar, both of them chipped 37 runs. Other notable scorer was Abhay Chhajed who made 27 runs, while Raj Kapoor from ICAI excelled with the ball claiming 4 wickets for 17 runs and was declared Man of the match.
 
In reply, the IRS could muster 102 runs after losing 6 wickets. Abhay Damle top scored with 32 runs while Dilip Brar and Srinivasan scored 30 & 31 runs respectively. CA. Raj Kapoor was declared Man of the Match for his contribution of 4 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs.
