Opportunity comes knocking on the doors of B.Com students in Bangalore. Now, they have an option of taking up a course offered by the London-based CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), which has launched its first learning partnership in Bangalore with the city-based Christ College.
The college will offer the programme in accounts and commerce and students of graduate and post-graduate classes could benefit from it.
The programme will run simultaneously with the B.Com course and is slated to start in July. CIMA is a leading membership body that offers an internationally recognised professional qualification in management accountancy, which focuses on accountancy for business.
CIMA, which has its chapters in 161 countries, offers certificate course in Business Accounting and Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting.

Mr Rick Sturge, Director of Employer and Statistical Development, CIMA, told newspersons that the syllabus is designed keeping in mind the latest business developments and is of commercial relevance. The combination matches the needs of modern organisations, he said.
With the course structure is tailored to learn the practical aspects of accounting through case studies, the students get better experience while undergoing the graduation, he added.
