Dear Professional Colleague, 

As you would be aware, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India through its various non-standing Committees works relentlessly to update the knowledge of members of the Institute. In this regard the Institute has constituted the Committee on Government Accounting (CGA). 

The Committee was constituted in the year 2008-09, with a mission to review the existing Government accounting system and on that basis suggest improvements along with providing awareness of Government accounting to the stakeholders including employees of the Government, members of the profession, media, NGO’s and society at large, to assist the Central and the State Government in enhancing accountability and transparency. 

The Committee aims to collaborate with various Ministries & professional bodies to draw synergy and analogy in enhancing accountability & transparency including public service delivery mechanism and upholding the public interest. It endeavors towards increasing the role of ICAI and its members in the various “Financial Inclusion” initiatives of the Government. 

We are pleased to inform you that the committee has planned to conduct webcast every fortnightly Friday. Henceforth, the Committee on Government Accounting (CGA) is conducting its 1st LIVE Webcast on “Understanding of Government Accounting”. The details are as follows:

In this context, may we also request you to give your valuable opinion on the topics that may be covered in future webcasts and timings that may be best suitable for the members for future webcasts. Further, we also urge members to come forward and participate as faculty in these series of webcasts being organised by the CGA.

Committee Activity plan ( Year -2013-14) 

We wish to inform you that a draft activity plan of the Committee is devised for the Year 2013-14. (Copy enclosed). It will be privilege for us if you spare our valuable time and suggest us what other areas can be covered in over activity plan for the year. In view of the above, I even request you for your active involvement in providing technical contribution, support and advice in various endeavours of the Committee for achieving our targets.
