India Education bureau, Hyderabad: ICAI is the 2nd largest professional body in the world. With over 2,20,000 members and 10, 000 students across 135 chapters and 22 colleges chapters, it is a name reckon organization among the professional bodies said CA Raghu, Vice President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India while addressing a press conference here in city on Wednesday.
Speaking about Campus Recruitment of CAs he said CA profession has become a very attractive profession. Campus Recruitments are being held across 22 locations in 350 colleges where newly qualified CAs are offered a initial paypacket in the range of Rs 6 to 7 lakhs. Mo9re than 7000 newly qualified CAs have registered for the campus interviews. 36 companies , PSUs, Banks such as Accenture, Corporation Bank, Creid Suisse Services India Pvt Ltd, ITC Ltd, SEBI, Indian Oil Corporation, TCS, Tata Steel, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd etc have participated in the campus recruitment, said Mr. Raghu.
Qualified CAs not only get good placements, they can also find employment abroad in countries in Gulf like Muscat, Kuwait and earn three times the salary there. CA is the only profession which can be completed with Rs 40 to 50,000/- in just three years. Unlike other areas, it is quite cheaper to complete CA.
The Association has introduced direct entry scheme to CA Course he informed. Graduates/Post Graduate with specified percentage of marks and intermediate level examination passed students of The Cost Accountants of India and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India have been exempted from passing the Common Proficienty Test(CPT).
Giving details about Soft Skills programmes, Raghu said One Day Faculty Development Programmes are being organized so as to ensure uniformity throughout the country. 5 Days Short Term Courses on Writing Skills, English and Business Communication are also offered by the Association.
The Association is embarked on introducing Reading Halls across the country. About 100 such halls with equipment are coming up across the country including at Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh has about 9000 CAs of which 6000 are in twin cities alone. Nearly 43,000 CAs are there in entire South India which is equivalent to the total number of CAs in Mumbai alone, he said.
