Delhi Value Added Tax Assessment Order passed by DVAT Officer
March, 03rd 2011

Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd has informed BSE that the Company has received the assessment orders for the years 2006-07, 2007-08 & 2008-09 raising the liability of Rs. 125.98 Crores. (Tax amount of Rs. 48.28 Crores + Interest Amount of Rs.16.83 Crores+ Penalty Amount of Rs. 60.87 Crores = Total Amount of Rs.125.98 Crores).

The Company has since disputed the demand and filed the Objections in the office of the Special Commissioner (DVAT) New Delhi. The decision is pending with the competent authority. The Company is confident that the liability including tax and penalty / interest will not be sustained on completion of the proceedings as per expert opinion obtained by the Company.
