The income tax department of Visakhapatnam conducted an awareness programme on the provisions of income tax for filing returns by individuals in Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) on the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant premises on Thursday.

In his inaugural address, principal commissioner of income tax BG Reddy highlighted the importance of filing of returns by all the employees within the due date. Serious implications arising out of non-compliance or fraudulent returns were emphasised by him.

Joint commissioner of IT RS Aravindakshan pointed out the various errors commonly noticed in the returns submitted by the employees and exhorted them to approach IT Department directly for any sort of clarification.

He assured the employees that the IT department is willing to extend cooperation in clarifying the doubts of the tax payers. Assistant Commissioner of IT Sheetal made a PowerPoint presentation to explain the e-Filing system and answered queries raised by the employees.

CMD of RINL P Madhusudan also interacted with the IT officials, Director (Finance) of RINL VV Venugopal Rao and ED (Works) I/c OR Ramani also present.
