Income tax laws should be clear and free from ambiguity

R Radhakrishnan, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) today said that the Income Tax and other taxation laws should be clear and free from ambiguity.

Inaugurating a two day conference on 'International Taxation', organised by Department of Commerce of Pondicherry University, he said such clarity was essential,particularly y when there were intensified initiatives for attracting foreign investors into the country.

Such investments would be of help to enhance production, generate employment and revenue, he said.

He said the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister were keen on addressing the woes of various sections, particularly the entrepreneurs.

Radhakrishnan also urged the University to offer suggestions for the union budget and if these were available to him he would place them before the FM for consideration.

Commissioner of Income Tax (international taxation) Chennai J Albertand Commissioner of Income Tax Puduchrry, R Das, were among those who spoke highlighting the various features of international taxation.
