There has been a 10 per cent growth in the tax collection in Tirupur Commercial Tax district covering nine circles in Tirupur and Palladam, during the first three quarters of the current fiscal, according to Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Tax G. Amsaveni.
Around Rs. 495 crore was realised during the first three quarters that began from April 1, 2015, and ended on December 31, 2015, which was 10 per cent more than from the tax realised during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Ms. Amsaveni said that tax collection in January this year was 20 per cent more than that in January 2015.

On Wednesday, the Commercial Tax department held a session to make the hosiery manufacturers and other dealers to get familiarised with the newly introduced e-C Tax project.
The dealers were explained how to update PAN card details in the new system and also the methods to carry out necessary formalities for new registrations and modifications to registration so as to help them make the tran South India Hosiery Manufacturers Association secretary V. Ponnusamy and Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, attended the interactions.
