The Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industries (Vreacted to the state budget stating that it fulfilled most promises in the run up to the assembly polls. At the same time VCCI has expressed it disappointment over the fact that VAT on goods sent outside the state was not reduced. VCCI senior vice-president Nilesh Shukla said that across the industry there has been a consistent demand that the additional two per cent VAT charged on goods sent outside the state should be removed. "The trade and industrial bodies are unanimous on this, but this demand has not been addressed in the budget," Shukla said.
